Feeling Christmassy (already? - yup!)

Here's the December edition of Delicious Magazine featuring my mincemeat illustrations on P103 - it's available in the shops now. This is a lovely regular commission each month, illustrating their 'In the know' ingredient page, and I'm really enjoying the opportunity to draw lots of foodie things.

In other news...

I battled the pouring rain to visit Sunbury Antiques Market on Tuesday, and I'm really glad I did - I even managed a little haggling and so came away with some lovely bargins! I bought some old wooden boxes and a large letter rack to display all my prints, cards, notebooks and masks ready for the QEST Christmas Fair. On Thurs 9th and Fri 10th Dec from 10am-8pm each day, I'll have my very own Christmas Chalet (think German Market) at Duke of York Square on Kings Road in London. There will be lots of artists and crafts people selling original work and should be great opportunity for Christmas shopping.

QEST stands for the "Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust" and I am a QEST Scholar (hence the logo at the right hand bottom corner of my website). QEST is a fantastic organisation which provides grants to enable artists and crafts people to further their career. I was lucky enough to be fully funded by QEST to study illustration at ARU in Cambridge in 2007 which was a completely life changing opportunity. QEST continues to support it's scholars through promotion of their work online and at events such as this exciting craft fair. I've never done an art/ craft fair before and so I'm more than a little nervous about it, so if you can come and say hello it would be really lovely to see you!

This week I've been working on the new publicity illustration for the magnificent Peut-etre Theatre, and working hard on my preparation for a REALLY exciting new commission. In September I was commissioned to paint the window at the Electrum Gallery on South Molton Street in London (watch the video of me painting here), I LOVED working on this project and I'm hugely lucky to be commissioned again for another hand painted mural. I'll be hand painting the giant windows at the Cornerstone Arts Centre in Didcot with a festive design for Christmas and I can't wait. I'll be starting the painting on Monday 22nd (more details to follow) and so if you live near Didcot come and give me a wave!

After a very busy week I'm looking forward to the reward of spending the weekend with friends, have a lovely weekend whatever you get up to x
