Here's some recent sketchbook work:
1. the lady at the top was from a fantastic day spent drawing at the National Gallery (I added the silver leaf moon when I got home)
2. the duck is an old oil lamp drawn at the Freud Museum
3. this puffin was drawn from a taxidermy model at the Stromness Museum in the Orkney Islands (I was desperate to see a real one but was unlucky this time!)
4. Fisherman's boat and floats drawn from the window of the Pier Arts Centre (in the Orkneys). It had the most fantastic permanent collection, and lovely staff that kindly ignored my use of marker pens!

Last week I was very lucky to attend a lecture by Richard Cork on the subject of his new book: "The Healing Presence of Art: A History of Western Art in Hospitals". Held at the  Wellcome Collection as part of London Creativity and Wellbeing Week 2012. I really recommend the book, the talk was incredibly inspiring and thoughts from it have continued to stay with me.

I've nearly finished the first draft designs for the September windows at Harvey Nichols and I'm really looking forward to showing you what I'm scheming up very soon!

Have a great week, and if anyone sees a puffin give it a wave from me! x
