New letterpress postcard

Here's my new postcard for 2011 (finally!) I've had such a manic year that I've only just got round to it - but better late than never eh! I decided to splash out on letterpress cards, and hopefully the images above give an indication of the lovely deep emboss. I used Blush Letterpress Printers, and they were fantastic, really generous with their time and advice.

I based the design on my recent mural commission for Liberty London. Here I placed the peacock on top of a striped hoop and gave him a rather fetching Native American headdress. It was a very indulgent drawing that took three days to complete - just the kind of geeky detail I love...

So over the next few weeks there will be a lot of movie watching whilst envelope stuffing to get these new cards out to new and existing clients - thank goodness for self seal envelopes!

this is beautiful! i was wondering if you could tell me what pens do you use to make your drawings? I'm using a drawing pen thats 0.1 but the lines seem to be thicker than I want (maybe i'm pressing too hard?)

thanks!

Hi Stephanie, I use a Pigma Micron 005 pen - it's lovely and fine with archival waterproof ink x
